24th January may have been a regular Sunday for most of you… but for us, it turned out to be a special day. The reason being that when we got up from bed last morning and grabbed the morning paper, we opened our eyes to a full-page article on 99Games.
The article entitled ‘The App rush’ talks about the development of the two hit titles of 99Games - WordsWorth and Chess Elite - in a little known place like Udupi. The article also stresses on how Apple’s App Store has redefined the rules of gaming and given birth to a new platform that already has millions of patrons worldwide. Besides this, the challenges faced by indie developers in trying to survive the App Store jungle have been discussed as well.
The article is a must-read for anyone interested in knowing more about iPhone development in India. Do check it out and let us know your views.
Thanks a lot to DNA for the coverage!

Our journey with WordsWorth has come a long way. It’s hard to believe that we’ve already reached v1.6 with lots of features being added along the way. It seems like only yesterday when the idea of WordsWorth was born, when it’s actually been months together.
When WordsWorth was released, we had to make sure that the App got the visibility it deserved. Boy, that was tough! Considering loads of App that come out everyday vying for attention. And we did taste success, as WordsWorth became the top paid word App in the U.K App Store.
All the hard work that we’ve put in aside; the joy of seeing your App do well in the market cannot be compared!
It’s just been a couple of days since v1.6 came out, and we’re already working on the next update, which includes an awesome FaceBook connect feature which lets you challenge your friends on FaceBook.
Right now we’re receiving the initial responses to the update, which has mostly been very positive but there have been some cases where the App crashed when launched. The fix for this issue has already been uploaded to the App Store but in case this happens, please delete the App and re-download it.
That’s all for now,
Until next time, Game On!
