Thoughts on WordsWorth

June 25th, 2009

Our journey with WordsWorth has come a long way. It’s hard to believe that we’ve already reached v1.6 with lots of features being added along the way. It seems like only yesterday when the idea of WordsWorth was born, when it’s actually been months together.

When WordsWorth was released, we had to make sure that the App got the visibility it deserved. Boy, that was tough! Considering loads of App that come out everyday vying for attention. And we did taste success, as WordsWorth became the top paid word App in the U.K App Store.

All the hard work that we’ve put in aside; the joy of seeing your App do well in the market cannot be compared!

It’s just been a couple of days since v1.6 came out, and we’re already working on the next update, which includes an awesome FaceBook connect feature which lets you challenge your friends on FaceBook.

Right now we’re receiving the initial responses to the update, which has mostly been very positive but there have been some cases where the App crashed when launched. The fix for this issue has already been uploaded to the App Store but in case this happens, please delete the App and re-download it.

That’s all for now,

Until next time, Game On!

Wordulous 1.1 update

June 17th, 2009

Yes, we are out with an update already. Looking at the response received by the game, we tweaked the game a little bit so that you can have a lot more fun with it.

So let’s get straight to the question, what’s new?

To begin with, we’ve increased the bonus time you get for creating longer words. And not just that, you also get extra time after you successfully complete a bonus round.

But watch out, we’ve also increased the penalty for entering a wrong word; so think twice before trying your luck entering random words!!!

Hope these changes will make it easier for you to beat your scores and enter the global leader board.

Be sure to check this space as we come out with a major update in the weeks to come.

Wordulous out now!

May 28th, 2009

 Wordulous

Wordulous hit the stores today, and like any proud parent, we’re beaming with joy. Can you blame us?

After our first word game WordsWorth became such a hit (It had made it to the top in the word game category), we obviously have a lot of expectations from the second one.

But our expectations are not baseless. Wordulous has benefited from all the experience we gained with WordsWorth. The fun, the excitement and the word-building fun has reached altogether new heights with this game.

So here’s the story behind Wordulous. Once WordsWorth was out, we were faced with the big question - What next? Our creative team stepped in and provided us with a lot of great ideas. We put our heads together, and after a lot of brainstorming, the idea of Wordulous was born.

Now that the App is out on the App Store, let me give you a short intro about it.

Wordulous is unlike any other anagram game. There are loads of features we’ve added to it to make it an intriguing and must-have App.

Multiple modes, Global scores, Facebook connect… You name it, we’ve got it!

And our efforts don’t stop here; we are already working on adding a lot more features to the game. So expect an update real soon.

Before I go, all I can say is that… If you are a WordsWorth fan, you’ll definitely find Wordulous addictive. Take my ‘word’ for it!

Wordulous submitted for Review on App Store!!!

May 12th, 2009

Wordulous

Celebrations are on in 99Games because we’ve just submitted our brand new word game Wordulous for review today! That is, after months of planning, weeks of implementation and hours and hours of discussion on coming out with an application that’ll blow your mind away.

Trust me, it wasn’t easy. In a market where hordes of applications are released everyday, every decision is crucial. We had to make sure that we come out with one heck of a killer application that has no match whatsoever. And we did!!

But the hard part has just begun; we now have to make sure that we reach all the word game fanatics, which is not an easy task considering the fact that there are so many of them. So, as we gear up for the release of Wordulous, we hope that it’ll follow the overwhelming success of WordsWorth and make us proud!

The essence of Wordulous lies in the 180 seconds of learning and fun it provides you. While I cannot reveal the details of the application just as yet, what I can tell you is that we have tried our best to create an application that has an edge over the others -  not just in the amount of sheer joy it’ll provide you, but also in the way it’ll change your approach towards word games.

So spread the word around, Wordulous is in town!
